The Appeal of Married Men
A woman who's single has plenty of fish in the sea to choose from—and yet, so many single women fall for one particular type of man: married ones. There’s just something so attractive about a man who's already committed, even if he's got a family of his own. For some women, the appeal may simply come from the fact that she's managed to snag his attention despite him being already taken, but as you'll see, there's more to it than just that. Here's why women can't resist men who have already tied the knot.
1. More Confidence
Men in committed, long-term relationships ooze confidence. Unlike single men, who might constantly try to prove themselves, married men often come across as more self-assured and not focused on impressing every woman he meets. Ironically, that only makes them more charismatic to women.
2. He's Got Relationship Experience
Women don't want men who haven't played the game. And since being hitched suggests that a man has successfully navigated the dating process and knows how to settle long-term, that experience only adds to their appeal.
3. Much More Emotionally Mature
Unlike bachelor men, who may often act more immature early on in the dating game, married men already know how to be patient, considerate, and emotionally aware in everyday interactions. Heck, even small things, such as listening attentively or knowing how to handle conflicts calmly, can make a woman swoon.
4. Doesn't Have to Try Too Hard
As we've mentioned, married men aren't like single men, who might try too hard to impress women. Because he's technically already taken, he's not the one searching for her approval or vying for her attention. Ironically, that lack of obvious pursuit can make a woman all the more interested.
5. Being Married Makes Him Attractive
Why are women so attracted to married men? Simple: because they're taken. Because another woman already found him charming enough to want to marry him. Just knowing that he was chosen by someone else (and is technically off-limits) can instantly influence how she sees him.
6. Naturally Charming
A man who has spent years in a relationship has much more experience interacting with women. Not only might he know how to make a woman feel valued and heard, he may also do so without, again, trying too hard. That natural charm and ease can make any woman intrigued.
7. Knows How to Make a Partner Feel Valued
A married man has had experience learning his wife's preferences, and that means he may carry some of those habits into other social interactions. From remembering small details to lending a hand whenever she needs help, it's those qualities that make him particularly irresistible.
8. A Degree of Stability
Being married means a man has established some degree of stability in his life, and women tend to associate that with having a routine, responsibilities, and a clearer idea of what he wants. Those assumptions can immediately sway first impressions, even if they turn out not to be true.
9. He's Committed
The fact that married men willingly chose to build a life with another person suggests that he isn't afraid of commitment—something that can be incredibly attractive to women. After all, women who have been in the dating pool for a while may be tired of men who avoid defining relationships, so simply meeting a man who's the complete opposite can hook them in.
10. His Attraction Rouses Curiosity
When a married man does show mutual interest, that alone can trigger curiosity: Why is he interested in me? Seeing that, despite being taken, he shows attraction to someone else not his wife may only intensify those initial romantic feelings, even when acting on it would create serious problems.
While married men can certainly be more appealing to women, there are cases where women still aren't completely head over heels. Here are 10 things that might turn them off:
1. He Flirts While Hiding His Marriage
An openly married man might arouse attraction, but ironically, a man who deliberately conceals his commitment can be off-putting. If he allows a woman to believe he's single while pursuing her, that can completely change how she sees him and make her question his honesty.
2. He Complains About His Wife
If you think women pursuing married men wouldn't like a man to constantly compliment his wife in front of her, you'd be right—but she also wouldn't like him criticizing his wife, either. After all, any relationship problems they have don't involve anyone but them, so why voice it aloud? It can also suggest that he'll eventually talk about her the same way if they get into a relationship.
3. He Claims They're "Basically Separated"
Sure, he might not hide the fact that he's married, but a man who says he's "separated" from his wife while continuing to live with her can put any woman in an uncomfortable position. Is their relationship actually ending? Or is he just stringing her along?

4. He Only Contacts Her in Secret
Sneaking around might feel exciting earlier on in the relationship, even if it's wrong, but over time it can quickly become exhausting. If he insists he can only ever contact her in secret, that tells her exactly where she stands, which can kill the attraction pretty quickly.
5. He Makes Everything Sexual
While flirting can be flattering, a man who turns every conversation into something sexual can instantly turn a woman off. She wants to feel special—not like his second plaything! If every compliment he gives her eventually switches into something suggestive, she may start questioning his true intentions.
6. He Thinks His Wife Is an Obstacle
More annoying than a man who constantly complains about his wife is one who constantly thinks she's an obstacle. If he refuses to resolve any relationship conflicts but still treats his spouse as something standing between him and another woman, that can reveal a troubling attitude toward commitment.
7. He Expects Her to Accept Whatever Attention He Gives
Not only might he only communicate using special channels to hide his affair, but married men may expect a woman to be grateful for whatever time or attention he spares her. That arrangement can quickly become exhausting—no woman wants to work around his schedule while receiving very little in return!
8. He Gets Jealous When She Dates Other Men
He's married, so he shouldn't have a say. And yet, he gets possessive anyway, which is pretty hypocritical. Why can't she see other people if he's technically in a committed relationship? Jealous behavior can eventually turn into a reason to just walk away.

9. He Treats His Marriage as Proof He's Desirable
There's a difference between a naturally confident married man and one who flaunts his ring as proof that he's desirable. Nothing kills all attraction more than a man who repeatedly mentions how attractive, accomplished, or great he is. In fact, it'll only come across as him seeking validation from other women.
10. He Makes Her Feel Guilty for Having Boundaries
If he's not only possessive but doesn't respect her boundaries, he could be the most attractive married man out there, and still no woman would want him. Her boundaries are her boundaries, and any man who disrespects her or responds with judgment is a major turnoff.
