1. Reading

1. Collecting

While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with collecting and people should showcase their passions, some people might not want to hear all about a collection on a first date or two. Cherish this hobby, and share it with those that are interested, but just don’t overwhelm a potential partner.

2. Clubbing

Clubbing is a fun part of growing up and is almost like a rite of passage many young adults go through. But either way, it can sometimes come across as indicating you’re still in a fun phase and aren’t interested in an actual serious relationship. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with wanting something casual either.

3. Crypto

Crypto has a lot of bad press around it due to the weird celebrities that surround it and the many scams associated with it. Crypto is used as a get-rich-quick scheme and can often hurt people, and most aren’t interested in crunching numbers on a date.

4. Product Parties

This is just a fancy way of saying MLM schemes. Many people unfortunately get pulled into these pyramid plots and end up making their products and the lifestyle an integral part of their personality, which can be quite overwhelming and concerning.

5. Wine Culture

A fancy way of saying drinking, as calling it a hobby is an excuse many people use to mask troubling behavior. It’s totally okay to be interested in wines and to partake, but when you’re more so focused on filling your glass than saving it for special occasions, it can be concerning.

6. Social Media

Practically everyone has some form of social media, and it’s natural to bring up interesting things you see as a point for conversation. That being said, people who make the influencer lifestyle their entire personality and are more focused on getting photos for their phone than living in the moment come across as unattractive.

7. Equestrianism

This essentially refers to all horse-themed hobbies. While it’s totally okay to partake in horse riding, some people can use this sport as a way to lord themselves over others. As it’s an expensive hobby, it can come across as a bit classist and high-maintenance.

8. Online Trolling

If you spend a fair bit of your day engaging with trolls online or leaving pointless comments over things, it can be a bit intimidating and unattractive to a potential partner. Being aware of things online is good, but engaging too heavily certainly isn’t.

9. Taxidermy

Many people are weirded out by the process of taxidermy, which involves making replicas of animals, usually with parts of actual animals. This is something many hunters do to showcase their trophies, but for most people, it seems insensitive.

10. No Hobbies

Perhaps the worst hobby anyone can have is no hobby at all. It’s important to have passions and interests in life, and if there isn’t anything in the world that catches your interest, people might think twice about subjecting themselves to that pressure.
