People From Around The World Talk About Their 'Strange Encounters'

People From Around The World Talk About Their 'Strange Encounters'

Alien abductions, flying saucers, little green men from Mars... We don't all believe in these things, but some people are absolutely convinced, not only that they exist, but that they themselves have been abducted by or had an encounter with another race from beyond our planet.

Whatever you personally may believe, these people who recently shared their abduction stories online are convinced that what happened to them was as real as anything else in our lives. They say were abducted. They say had encounters. These are their stories. You be the judge.

45. Double Abduction

My fiancé, boyfriend at the time, had just gotten home from work. He was in our kitchen. I walked through the bedroom and into the bathroom and just stopped for a moment. I had a weird feeling, I still can't really put a name to it, so I called him and asked him to "come here."

I walked out of the bedroom and as soon as we came within view of each other, that was it. The next thing we knew, we were both waking up, laying side by side on our bed, flat on our backs, on top of the blankets and still fully-dressed down to our shoes.

Three hours had gone by. It was so odd and disorienting, and though we had both just come to, we were extremely tired. We joked about the lost time at first, but the more we thought about it, the more weirded out we became about the whole ordeal.

This isn't proof or anything, but I've never been able to think of anything else it could have been.

44. Six Hours Gone

This happened when I was 10 years old. I was riding around on my bike and it was time to go home for lunch. A direct route through town would have taken about 10 minutes, but at the time I had a couple of bullies who prevented me from taking that path. So I opted for then scenic route that took about 40 minutes.

It was a sweet early afternoon in the summer time. I took the scenic route, but I didn't get home until almost 7 hours later. The funny thing is I never noticed anything weird until I got home and it was starting to get a bit darker. I peddled all the way, and never took any other detours. I have no memory of what happened or where the time went.

43. We Were Taken

I was sitting at the park one day in broad daylight with 4 or 5 friends. I lived in a small community in the midwest, so the park was empty except for us. We were talking when suddenly everyone just kind of slowed down and eventually froze completely, myself included. I couldn’t move or talk, couldn’t blink; I had to focus really hard on just breathing. Then I blacked out.

I woke up alone in a dark, nearly pitch black room with three large illuminated screens around me. On the screens, I saw the park from above, the exact spot where my friends and I had been sitting. It felt like I was in that room for hours until I blacked out again.

I finally came to and realized I’d been crying hysterically on the ground. The rest of my friends seemed pretty wrecked too, like they had all just experienced something equally terrifying. I was the first one of us to speak. “I think I met God,” I said. They all responded with similarly brief statements. I remember one girl saying, “We were on TV somewhere,” which expressed the feeling of being watched, unsafe, and violated really well.

42. Unexplained Violation

My routine was: finish work, come back to the motel around 9 PM, shower, change, and drive into town for late night dinner. On this particular night I went through my routine, took a shower, changed, headed for the door. I got to my car and when I turned it on something felt really wrong.

I looked at the time, and it was now 2 AM. I had no idea how I had lost around 4 hours between showering and getting into my car. My whole body felt weird. I felt violated, like an assault victim would describe waking up from being assaulted while passed out. You have no idea what happened, but you know you've been through something. I stayed up all night scared, trying to figure out what happened. Why was I missing 4 hours? If I had passed out why didn't I wake up on the floor? why did I feel so violated?

41. Trying To Recreate Their Marks

This happened about 5 years ago. I was up all night studying for an exam in my room when it completely lit up in a blinding light. So of course I run to a window and I see a flying saucer hovering above my neighbor's house. It was there for a few seconds then disappeared. After that, I woke up in my bed in the morning with what looked like shapes scratched into various parts of my body. I remember spending the whole morning before school trying to recreate the markings with my fingernails thinking that I scratched myself in my sleep.

40. An Hour For Father And Son

About 20 years ago, I was walking home from the shops with my dad and we stopped to watch some really odd lights in the sky.

There were two lights, slightly bigger than the stars, zooming around and orbiting each other, making figure-8s, etc. Then they stopped moving, got bigger and bigger until a bright light filled the sky, and vanished. We carried on our journey home. We hadn't stopped for more than 5 minutes, and the whole journey should have taken no more than 20.

But when we got home, my mom was freaking out. We had been gone for 65 minutes. Our watches were both still working but were 45 minutes behind every clock in the house. She had neighbors and friends out looking for us. I don't know what happened to us or what we saw. Maybe it was nothing. But where did that time go?

39. A Different Kind Of Out-Of-Body

It's complicated to explain, but I'll try. I only remember briefly "waking up" to see that I was "floating" in a metallic ring/circle... Except that body wasn't attached to me. The first thing I saw was a wall of blood processing machines in front of me. It was hazy, but I looked down and saw that my organs were floating where they would be positioned in my body. I only remember looking down and seeing my heart floating in mid-air, and I realized what was going on and passed out. I have to add that I have witnessed true UFOs numerous times in my life. I don't debate who made them, because who really knows?

38. Magnifying Discomfort

I live in a pretty secluded part of Washington State. I was in my late teens and my parents had gone to Seattle for something, so I was put in charge of the property. I was closing everything up (i.e. the barn we own and some other small utility buildings) when I looked up and saw three reddish-orange lights in a triangular formation. They were just floating there, as if they were magnified stars. So magnified, in fact, that everything was slightly illuminated by their warm hue.

I was mesmerized, standing there, and suddenly lost my sense of balance, as if the ground in front of me had begun rising. I passed out. Next thing I knew, I was on the ground in the barn I had locked up (according to my watch) half an hour before.

Needless to say, I was petrified. I scurried to the house with my tail between my legs, scared and confused. I couldn't sleep that night and any sense of security I had was gone. Even though I was locked safely in my house, I felt hopelessly exposed.

37. Leg Probing

When I was in 6th grade, I woke up one day with 4 very small holes on my upper right thigh. It looked like the skin had been cut out in perfect tiny circles, yet there was no blood. The circles were in a straight line and across my thigh horizontally, no more than 6 inches across in total. I also felt very tired and couldn't remember what I had dreamt, which is weird for me since I pretty much remember every dream I have every night.

I put bandaids on them and went to school as usual. The next morning, I woke up to find three new holes, right above the previous four. I was once again very tired and drowsy, and was now weirded out enough that I showed my mom, who said it was most likely ant or spider bites.

Next morning, there were two more holes above the previous three, and the morning after that, one. This is when I was seriously scared since the holes now formed a triangle that pointed to my knee and they weren't scabbing over. I was so tired and confused and was scared to go to bed, so I stayed up really late.

I woke up the next morning, not even knowing when I had fallen asleep. When I did wake up, I was suddenly very alert, and when I threw my blanket off my legs I found all the holes completely gone. No scabbing or scarring or any trace of the circles on my thigh. I showed my mom and she just brushed it off as if they had healed like any other cut.

36. House Inspection By Big Greys

This happened when I was 10.

I looked out my window, as I always did before bed to make sure nothing was outside, and suddenly, I started hearing a massive mechanical hum and the light outside became bright like a spotlight.

I then locked eyes with a grey head. Freaked the heck out, I jumped back in my bed, pulled the covers over me, and stared at the window. I was honestly waiting to die and wondering what was going on. When I dared to glance, I saw the grey figure pacing in front of my window, stopping to stare through the bent corner in my blinds with its black eyes.

I remember it very vividly, from the sound to the sensations. It was like a vibrating at a high frequency.

I couldn't muster the courage to call for my parents, or even yell.

Next thing I knew, it was a few hours later, everything was dark and night again.

35. Hypnotized And Forgetful

I was at a friend's cabin one night with 5 friends. It was late at night and we were all hypnotized for about 15-20 minutes looking at these dancing lights above the hill across the lake. Then a shooting star went across the sky and it lit everything up almost as bright as day. We all ran into the cabin. When looking back at it, I get a strange feeling thinking of how we don't have many memories of after we went inside. I guess we decided to just fall asleep right away instead of talking about what we had seen.

34. Ball Of Fearful Fire

My grandparents and one of their parents back in the '60s were fishing on Georgian Bay in Canada. They were out on this island when, out of nowhere, they saw this giant orange glowing ball about the size of a large two-story house come from around a bend in the lake. It went silently past them but it was really close apparently. My grandpa said it looked like the inside of it was on fire but it was just the surface moving around in a weird way.

After it went past them, it stopped dead in its tracks and went back the same way it had come, vanishing around the bend of the lake.

He looks concerned every time it's brought up and said it was the most terrifying feeling he's ever felt. His dad was on the other side of the island and came scooting up in the boat about 5 minutes later and told them they were leaving because he saw it too.

33. The Grating Before Eating

I was at my grandparents' house with my parents and sister. My grandma is an immigrant from the Caribbean and she always leaves her bathroom window open. It’s a mix of being really frugal and just the island custom of leaving windows open for the breeze. I found it very uncomfortable to urinate in there with the window open, so I was always on high alert when I was in there.

I was going when I heard a noise that I honestly could never explain with words. I guess you’d call it like a high pitched grating? Either way, it was a strange sound, and the strangest thing about it is that it sounded like it was coming from my own head. It must have been a second later that I saw a blinding light, then everything went black, like an instant sleep.

What felt like a moment later, I was back in the dining room with my family. They were sitting around at the table, dirty plates in front of them. There was a dirty plate in front of me. I was sitting with them. I had eaten? They were talking to me about my soccer team, and the conversation felt like it had been going on for a while.

Something happened, I just have no idea what it was. I guess I honestly don’t even want to know what it was at this point because it never happened again, and I’m okay with that.

32. Triangle In The Night

When I was 12, I was playing a game on the computer while my mom and stepdad were out for the night. This was special for me, as I always had to get off the computer when they went to bed.

I saw a light through our thin, white curtains. I assumed my parents had come home when they were supposed to be gone all night. I went outside and our driveway was empty. It turned out the light was coming from a huge, black triangle with three points of light that was hanging in the sky right above my house. I went inside to grab my parents' digital camera, but by the time I got back outside, it wasn't there.

I know that night happened but has felt like a dream since the day after. It made me a believer.

31. The Static Man

In the 90s, my family lived in a coastal city in Saudi Arabia.

My parents were doing up the flat we lived in so my brother and I had to sleep on the same king-sized bed for a week or so. I was probably around 10 years old and my brother was 13.

One night my brother started shaking my shoulder trying to wake me up, saying, "Do you see this too?"

I don't know what time it was, but it was dark. I was under my duvet and had no idea what he was talking about. I opened my eyes and saw this featureless, lanky, tall person made of dim light. It was standing by my brother's side of the bed.

Before I could process what was happening, it extended its neck over to the middle of the bed between my brother and I and disintegrated into tiny lights across the room with a massive static sound.

My brother and I screamed and hid under our duvets.

Next thing I know, I wake up in the morning at the exact same time as my brother, and we just look at each other and run out of the room.

30. Testing Bruising Patterns

When I was 15, two friends and I were hanging out in my spare room. After a bit of gaming, we got tired and all kind of passed out. It’s all kind of hazy but I remember waking up without really being awake. I was in this bright white room with these tools that were at my side. Every once and a while, a loud beep would sound and the tools would hit my abdomen really hard. I woke with severe bruises on my side. My friends all had the same dream and had severe bruises in the same spots. It was so surreal. It still keeps me up at night. I’m horrified of that experience.

29. Big Grey Says Sleep

When I was 13, I was a chubby curly-haired goof. Anyway, I was getting ready to sleep and was snuggled into bed when I realized the lights were still on. So I sat up in bed and peeked out my window. I locked eyes with a grey-headed creature who was blocking my entire view just beyond the window. The next thing I knew, it was morning and I was tucked back into bed with my lights still on but my window was cracked open slightly.

I told my parents about what happened at breakfast and they told me to stop lying for attention. I lost a little bit more sleep from the experience and got over it pretty quickly. It never happened again.

28. Frightening Figures, Random Places

When I was about 10 years old, I lived in a three-bedroom apartment. All the windows and doors were locked and you needed a key to get into the laundromat.

I don't know what time it was but I remember waking up and I was frozen. I couldn't move and I saw extremely strange, dark, tall figures standing in my doorway, by my window, and at the edge of my bed. I was stuck staring at them for what seemed like forever. It was the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me and that's saying a lot.

After what seemed like forever, everything went black. When I woke up, I was inside a dryer in the apartment complex's laundromat. Which you need a key to get into. I didn't have any of the keys and when I went home everything, was locked and everyone was still asleep. I never found out how I got out of the apartment and into the laundromat.

27. Knockers In The Night

During the summer, I took a trip to upstate New York with a friend and we stayed at some motel overnight before heading further on our trip. That night, I remember hearing knocking on my door and someone who kept yelling, "Hello? Hello?" I remember my friend was fast asleep, unfazed by the noise, but I ended up going to the door and unlocking it.

I don't remember anything after that. I woke up sitting on the office chair by the desk, around 6 AM. I checked but the door was locked and nothing had been taken. It didn't look like anyone had entered. I woke my friend up and asked if he'd heard knocking during the night. He said no. I told him what happened and he was pretty annoyed that I would wake up in the middle of the night to open the door to a stranger.

But there was no sign that I did or that someone had come in. Just that I somehow ended up on the chair and not the bed. I still feel like I was awake when I went to answer the door though.

26. Lights Below The Clouds

My ex and I were driving out of my suburban neighborhood super late one night on the way to go eat Waffle House or something. As we’re nearing the exit to my neighborhood, I look up into the sky and we both notice these three really strange orange lights in a triangle formation.

We then stop the car in the middle of the road to figure out what we’re looking at. These lights didn’t have the quality of lights you see emitting from a plane or a star. When you look at stars, they are so far away that they almost seem 2D. But these lights FELT 3D some how. They were much bigger and seemed closer -- high enough into the sky to be well above the trees but not above the clouds. And they were just floating there, not moving up, down, left, or right, but eerily still. I really don’t know how to explain how still these things were but it was unnatural and I know that sounds stupid but that’s how it felt when I saw them and I wish I could explain it better.

Finally, these globes of light just abruptly dissolved away. Kind of like they were sucked into a black hole or something.

25. Studying Surgery

I was 17 and had just undergone an appendectomy the day before. Lying in bed at home late at night, I was woken by a bright light. Unable to move, I watched as three of your classic big-headed grey skin black-eyed aliens surrounded me. They spoke, but their mouths never moved. All but one spoke a language I couldn't understand. The one who did speak English kept telling me not to be afraid or scolding the others for frightening me.

From what I recall, they were there either because something was wrong with my surgery or they wanted to examine the wound. Either way, I watched and felt as one of them slid three super long fingers into my incision and prodded around in my abdomen, all the while chatting it up with the others. The pain was unbearable and I blacked out.

When I woke up they were gone. I was super weak and could barely move, let alone cry out for help and simply blacked out again. When I finally woke up again my incision was still sealed and bandaged with no trace of any meddling.

24. Visited In The Woods

On March 24, 2015, I walked into my backyard around 11 PM. I live in boring, isolated Oregon. I felt like somebody wanted me to go in the woods and was trying to send me signals -- whether random sounds at night or small glares of light. I always went there during the day and there was nothing but trees. So I wanted to yell into the woods and ask whoever or whatever was in there to stop messing around, but it was difficult to raise my voice. I was honestly frozen and I felt paralyzed.

I tried to scream for help but there were no words. I kept walking towards the woods and I felt something grab me by the arm, and shove me through the woods.

The next thing I remember was waking up in my bed and thinking it was all a dream. I went outside to where I remembered the encounter taking place. For the first time in my life, I saw branches broken and all leaves on the ground. I left later that month and never went back.

23. A Vomitous Visitation

When I was about 7, my parents and I briefly lived in an apartment in Chicago next door to my dad's old house. For whatever reason, on this night we all slept on the living room floor, me between my parents. Sometime in the middle of the night, I woke up and was entranced by an orange glow outside one of the windows (we were on the second floor).

I wandered the 5 or 10 feet over to it and looked out to see what I believed to be the house next door completely gone, and a spacecraft in its place, hovering over an empty lot. I remember just standing there staring at it in disbelief, feeling as though I couldn't move an inch. It felt like I was there for ages, and then bam! I woke up, back between my parents. So it was a dream...

You'd think, except immediately after waking up I rolled over and puked my brains out. I wasn't sick and I don't throw up unless there's a serious stomach virus going around, so it was for an undetermined reason. As I got older, I started to rationalize that I was probably just scared by the dream, but I always do kind of wonder...

22. Gift Of Premonitions

My boyfriend and I had a shared abduction in 2011. In the "dream," we were taken up by flickering orbs of light about the size of softballs, which took us to the shore of Lake Michigan, then solidified into strange, slightly off reflections of ourselves which acted in a slightly off way.

The "woman" pulled me aside and the "man" pulled him aside, then vice-versa; they asked us a lot of questions about things like how happy we were in our lives and with each other, and at the end, they separately asked us both: "Do you want to be like us?" We were both separately very weirded out by them and by their weird, very undefined question ("like us" how, exactly?).

My boyfriend was angry at them and I was nervously saying I just wanted to go back home. Then they took us up again, brought us together, and announced that they had made a decision of some kind. They told us some things that were going to happen in our personal lives. (These things came true over the next few years. Would rather not discuss; personal stuff.)

The next morning, we both shot awake at the same time, and I said to him, "I just had this crazy dream!" And he said, "I had a crazy one too!" We started comparing notes and realized we'd had the same dream.

Just a few nights later, we found that there were reports in the local news of two flying orbs of light over Lake Michigan.

21. A Coming Culling?

Almost 6 years ago, I went to sleep one night and woke up on another planet or maybe some kind of artificial habitat; it was like a forest but I'd never seen the plants before and the small river that I saw was purple.

What I believe was an alien came to me and told me how when we die our energy gets harvested and how life on earth was not created by them but they tweaked our planet to produce us. The way I understood it was that humans were essentially created to nurture and grow the energy that is life. I didn't understand how they use it or what it means to them. The being said that there are too many bodies and not enough "soul" to go around so it's being spread thin which is leading to people becoming more and more evil or something and they said that they would have to do a culling, sparing a few million humans which they mark with a few different masks.

All of a sudden, I woke up on my bed and immediately thought I just had a very vivid lucid dream but my feet were dirty and to this day I still have these three mysterious red dots that make a triangle on the back of my hand that I didn't have before that night.

20. Top To Bottom

I went to sleep on the top bunk and woke up because someone was shining a light in my eyes. When my eyes adjusted it was actually some kind of super bright light coming from my bedroom window and flooding the room.

I walk over and see a huge triangular craft floating above my apartment. I look down because I'm sure everyone on the street must be freaking out. But no, instead they all had this zombie look on their faces and drivers were just stopped at green lights and not a single soul was looking up. Suddenly the craft shined one of its other lights onto me and I don't remember anything after that.

BUT here is the kicker: if it was just a dream (that's a logical conclusion) how the heck did I wake up on the BOTTOM bunk?

19. Walked Out Of Remembrance

Maybe 5 years ago now, I was staying at my parent's house with my little sister while they were out of town. She was mid-teens at the time and I was early 20s. We are both very interested in the paranormal and have had numerous discussions of what else could be out there.

This particular night, we were sitting in the dark in the living room. I had turned all the lights off and we were watching the lightning bugs outside the large windows, just casually talking. Out of nowhere, there was an unbelievably huge burst of orange light that seemed to come from outside. It lit up the entire downstairs as if I had turned the lights on. I’m talking nuclear explosion bright. My immediate response was to think that our house, or the neighbor's house which we were facing, had caught fire.

We both ran out the side door, and that was it. We both have zero memory of what was outside, how long we were outside or what we did after coming back in.

18. A Familiar Feeling

One time I woke up laying in my bed (around 3 or 4 AM) and I saw what would be stereotypically described as grey aliens. I watched two of them float through my bedroom window and leave. I was conscious and I knew without a doubt that I was awake. I wasn't startled, but rather unfazed because I felt deep down that I knew them somehow, though it was the first time I had ever seen them before, consciously at least.

I know it wasn't sleep paralysis because I was awake, aware, calm, and could move.

17. Alien Family Visit

Basically, I was sleeping and I was taken. There was a bright light like I was in a surgery theater and these grey, black-eyed aliens were looking down on me weeping. I felt love and comfort, like they were worried and like they were family to me. It was quite an experience. I actually felt better the next day.

16. Historical Aliens

When I was really young, I remember waking up in my bed. I felt compelled to stare out the window and just generally felt really creeped out. Since then, I have had weird flashback memories of seeing these white things standing over me. I thought it was weird because they didn’t look like the regular aliens I had seen in movies. They had long hands and fingers and really tall heads, and were white.

The weirdest part was later on in life when I was in my 20’s I was on the internet and saw a statue of one of those Annunaki figures from Sumer and my stomach literally turned because that was what I had always had a memory of since I was a child. Keep in mind that when I was a kid there was no internet.

15. Burned Into Skin And Memory

I was 8-10 years old, sleeping over at my best friend/neighbor's house. We fell asleep in his basement, but both woke up to some strange lights outside. We both went to look out the basement windows, and saw some sort of weird vehicle/structure in the woods. The craft glowed red with such an intensity that you couldn’t make out the details of it. But we saw silhouettes of a humanoid walking around the craft. The figure disappeared from the glow, and we crept closer to the window to get a better look.

BOOM! There, in front of us, in a blink of an eye, we saw it. I can recall only about a split second of this creature peering in a us. Humanoid, strange, red glow behind it. We then woke up, both of us, terrified, faces red from some sort of sunburn. It scared the crap out of us. A few months later, my family moved and my friend and I never remained in contact to keep up the friendship.

Fast-forward to a year or two ago, someone suggested contacting him to see what he remembers. I end up finding him on Facebook, send a message and catch up. I ask him later if he ever remembers anything weird as a kid. He laughs and asks if I’m referring to the alien/UFO, and then proceeds to recall this story just as I stated it above.

14. Questions For A Good Girl

I was probably about 5 or 6. I lived in a normal 2-bed house in the East of England with my parents and younger brother. I remember this very vividly even to this day and I'm 30 now.

I woke up in the night, probably about 2 AM, to noises downstairs in the front room. I walk down the stairs and go into the room. We had two sofas facing each other and a coffee table in the middle. I stop in the doorway because I see a strange being sitting on the sofa. They looked like your typical "grey" but with slightly more human-like limbs. No visible clothes. They ask me to sit down on the floor facing them, which I do.

I'm basically sitting on the other side of the table. I then place both hands on the table and lay my head down too on the side. I remember being asked loads of questions about what I would do during the day and what I wanted to do in the future. How old was I? When was my birthday? Did I take any tablets? Could I not eat any specific foods? After some time of being asked these random questions, I was told, and I remember this VERY vividly: "You have done a very good job today, Sophie. It's alright and you can go back to bed. We will see you again." I'll never forget that.

I told my parents the next morning and they put it down to dreaming. It was just so incredibly real, I remember feeling my heartbeat and the feeling of the table on my arms and the carpet on my legs.

13. Left Outside

When I was 13, I remember doing my night routine on a Sunday. It was was completely normal until I woke up in the middle of the night in a weird foggy state. When I sat up in bed, I remember the sound of the hamster wheel just stopping. It was so quiet, all I heard was soft static. I couldn't think, either. There was a total absence of that inner voice in your head that makes up your thoughts.

I just started walking down the hall and through the kitchen. My memory stops in the kitchen. Like, just dead in the middle of the kitchen.

I snapped out of this weird fog standing outside. I tried going back in the house but the door was locked so I banged on it until my dad let me in. He was kinda crabby I had locked myself outside and woke him up early. I went back to bed because I still had an hour and a half before school.

After I got up to get ready and wait for the bus, my dad started asking questions that I really couldn't answer like, "How did you lock yourself outside without a key?"

12. The Green Light Knows

One night, I was tossing and turning in bed, having a hard time falling asleep. It was a full moon that night and throughout I would glance at the moon and track its movement across the sky.

This is what I remember. Looking out my window around 2 AM, I noticed a star that appeared greenish. As soon as I looked at it I had this instant paralyzing feeling that “they know I know.” Immediately, this green light travels across the sky and above my house. Next thing I know I come to, sitting on the edge of my bed just kind of staring off into nothing. I look out my window to see where the moon is in the sky. To my surprise, it has already set and there are only a couple stars left in the creeping early morning light.

Confused and with a gnarly headache, I see that the time is around 5 AM. The weirdest part is the glass of water on my nightstand was half empty with the other half pooled around the base of the glass.

11. On The Table

One night, after falling asleep, I "woke up" laying flat on my back, almost like I was being autopsied -- and that's a red flag right there because I've never slept or even relaxed like that, not even as a kid. The next red flag was that I had night vision, or that it was dark with a night vision colored light illuminating just above me. And the last red flag was two aliens, one on each side of me, at my hips.

I could barely see out of the slit of my right eye, yet I felt a real "oh crap" and legit fear of what was happening and I guess my breathing quickened or they knew I was aware because the alien to my left immediately turned its head toward me, began leaning toward me and I was "put" back to sleep.

10. Do You Believe?

I don't know what happened on this night but it fits the traditional X-Files alien abduction situation.

One night I was driving home. I was about a mile from my house at 11:50 (I know it was a mile because I was right at the end of my grandma's street). All of a sudden, my radio started cutting out. It almost sounded like it was scanning stations. My brights wereflickering between being really bright and really dim. It totally freaked me out, so I pulled over for a minute. As soon as I shifted into park, the car turned off completely. The key wouldn't turn at all.

I got my phone out to call home and it wouldn't turn on either. I looked around and none of the houses nearby had any lights on. I seriously thought the world had ended. I was sitting there for about 3-5 minutes trying to decide if I wanted to walk all the way up my grandma's creepy dark road and driveway.

Suddenly my car came back on; my brights are on, my windshield wipers are on high, the radio is blasting. It scared the crap out of me. Then my phone rings. It is now almost 12:20 and my dad is calling me. Which means I somehow lost about 30 minutes. I KNOW for a fact I was only in my stopped car for about 3-5 minutes max.

9. Universal Parental Instinct

I had what I do not think is a dream, but an encounter.

I remember seeng a light, then my eyes adjusting and gathering my surroundings. I'm laying down, but not flat; whatever I'm laying on has me raised up. The room is metal, sort of like if you look underneath a car. I wasn't wearing what I wore to bed, and suddenly two people walked in. I kept trying to focus on their faces, but I couldn't. It was a blur, like a filter was over their faces.

They walked towards me, and I noticed one had something in their hands. It was blankets. "I'm not cold," I remember thinking to myself. They handed me the blankets, and now I want to add in right here that at no time in this experience did I feel any hostility or fear. I was just confused but calm and I felt safe. As I took the blankets, I realized that it felt solid like something was inside them. I unwrapped the blankets... and it was a baby.

Not a human baby.

Its skin was a blue-grey and slick, almost slimy. Large shimmery eyes, and tentacles? I've still not found any alien beings with tentacles in all my years of research, but anyway...

I cried once I saw it. I held it close, I felt an overwhelming sense of love for this thing. They allowed me to hold it for a good bit, but then they took it from me. I was so devastated, so heartbroken. I started screaming, I wanted that baby back.

I woke up. I remember feeling this looming heartbreak for the rest of the day. I didn't fully remember this until I got home and told my mom about it.

8. Sudden Sunrise

My sister and I were driving home from a theme parks. It's well after midnight and we're talking, listening to music, normal stuff you do on a late night car ride home.

I noticed these... I thought they were bright stars at first, because they looked like stars. But they were moving and getting bigger as they got closer. So I thought maybe an airplane. But they remained in the same formation, and I got the sense that they were outlining something.

There was a weird noise, like a mechanical sound, the hum of a machine. Next thing I know, my sister and I are standing outside the car, the sun is coming up, and neither of us has any memory of what happened during those 6 or so hours we lost.

7. Waking Up Scarred

Once, when I was about 10, I was in bed and was woken up feeling like I was moving. I woke up in a very, very brightly lit room that smelled like some kind of gas. My vision blurred and I began to feel suction on my wrist, then a slice. But it wasn't painful, it sort of felt like the skin just separated.

The next morning I woke up in my bed, with a small scar on my wrist that wasn't there before. It was in the shape of a diamond.

The scar is still there. It's faded over the last 18 years, but it's still there.

The smell of the gas and the suction feeling are two things I'll always remember. I never had any surgeries or anything as a kid, so I'm not misremembering anything.

6. Abductions And Bruises

I was abducted in 2014.

I used to wake up almost every day with a new bruise on my body. They weren't normal bruises; they were 3 perfect finder-tip sizes with maybe 4 centimeters between then, forming a perfect line. Also, there was a mysterious light that kept shining from my room. Sometimes it could be so bright then next thing it’s gone but it never moved when it was bright again. It would always be in the same spot. It used to freak me out. Then after 2 weeks, my bruises went away and to this day I'm convinced when I was sleep I was abducted.

5. Foiled Abduction

I was sleeping with my parents back when I was a kid and I remember waking up to a brilliant blue flash of light. Then there was this hooded figure in full black lifting me off the bed. My mother woke up and gripped me tightly and I was screaming at the top of my voice. Then it dropped me and vanished as it came.

Years later my mother saw three humanoid greys in her sleep saying that she didn't allow me to be taken. Then she woke up.

4. Mother's Piercing Story

My mom has told me a few times about how she was abducted by aliens. When she was about 12, she told me about their spaceship, which she explained to be in the shape of a saucer with large lights underneath. Apparently, they led her in, one of them holding her hand the entire time. She said they were very tall, slender with large eyes, but normal-sized heads. They did a test on her by sticking a needle into her foot that went through and through. She didn't remember much after that. When she woke up she had a hole (scars) on both the bottom and top of her foot. This happened in Mexico sometime in the '60s.

3. Bright Visitation

I was home alone in this little house I lived in in the middle of nowhere. It was probably around two in the morning. I was just listening to music, enjoying having the place to myself for a change, when all of a sudden my dogs started going crazy. Normally, when someone pulls in the driveway or comes up to the back door, they peek through the blinds to see who it is. But this time they were running all around the house, barking louder than they ever have -- before or since.

When I stood up to go see what the heck they were on about, I noticed that the whole house seemed to be lit up with a deep blue light. Turning into the living room, it became obvious that it was emanating in from each window, coming from nowhere and everywhere all at once. I put on my shoes to go outside and see who was out there, but by the time I got out the door, the light had faded away.

I felt a chill run down my spine and I had the weirdest sense of fight or flight where neither option seemed viable like I was frozen on the spot. I wanted to turn around and get back inside, and then... I just was. Right back in the chair I had been listening to music in. As if I had just blinked... and there I was.

2. Teenage Hormones Always Lead To Trouble

I was 15 years old at the time, living out in the boonies with my mom. I had been talking with this girl on and off for weeks and I was on the phone with her just before dark. She told me that if I came over to her house she would sneak out to meet me as soon as her parents went to bed.

She texted me sometime after 10 PM that her parents were asleep, and I left for her house.

As I was riding my bike down these dark country roads, I saw orange lights above me in a triangular formation. They were just hanging there, still. I stopped for a second to get a better look because there were some trees obstructing my view. The more I looked at them, the bigger they seemed to get. I started to feel this really weird sensation that I can only describe as similar to vertigo. I completely blacked out.

When I woke up, I was still on the side of the road but not where I had been before. I got super confused and couldn't quite figure out where I was for a minute. I pulled out my phone to check the time, but it was dead. My bike was nowhere to be found. I started heading down the road in what I thought was the direction I came when I suddenly realized where I was. I was in the opposite direction from my house relative to where I started.

I turned around and ran home as fast as I could.

1. Out-Of-Body Abduction

I should have been asleep face up in bed when suddenly I felt my eyes slowly open. I was watching myself sleeping from the ceiling, and it felt like my back was glued to the area just above my bed. I remember trying to scream and shout for somebody to help but it was muffled, almost like I was underwater. This experience was horrifying enough by itself, but the issue was only compounded by what happened next.

Suddenly from the corner of my eye, I saw movement in the dark. It looked like a large figure was coming through my window. My screams became more muffled and I realized that no amount of effort would move my body from its position on the bed. Then, the figure approached my body. It became clear that what was happening to me was seriously horrific. I watched as some strange thing approached my body and began probing my eye. It was dark but the room had become well-lit following its intrusion and I could see it using its 2 large mantis-like hands to separate my lids and poke at my eye.

Once it had finished with me and my screams had been exhausted my back began to fall from the ceiling and I fell directly back in to my body.

Special Neighbor

There is a vast forest behind my grandmother's house. Occasionally, I go there and simply walk. One day, while exploring, I spotted a human-like figure walking in an odd manner. Suddenly, I felt dizzy and disoriented. Filled with panic, I hurried back to my grandmother's house and recounted what had occurred. The words she spoke sent a chill down my spine. I have never returned to that place since then.

She told me that I might've accidentally touched a plant or fungus with hallucinogenic properties, causing sensory distortions and confusion. She was exactly right.
