Playing Barbies IRL
Our current economy has us wishing for the most basic things: owning property, being able to afford groceries, or being able to go to the doctor without worrying about the financial strain it would put on us. Money is certainly an object, and it sucks that we have to work twice as hard to live comfortably. That said, it's okay to think bigger sometimes. If you had all the money in the world, would you add any of these rooms to your home?
1. Home Theatre
What could be better than having your very own movie studio? Just think, instead of paying $40 for a ticket, popcorn, and a drink, you could sit in the comfort of your own home in an extremely comfortable chair, with only the best surround sound system.
2. Game Room
A game room could mean a giant space for things like air hockey, arcade games, or even a bowling alley if you so choose, but it could also mean a dedicated space for our video gamers out there. Soundproofed walls, excellent wifi, and a brand spanking new PC for you to spend your evenings the way you so choose.
3. Home Gym
Like a home theatre, a home gym would save you time and money. In your dream home, a dedicated space with a weight rack, treadmill, Peloton, or other workout items of your choosing means you won’t be spending countless dollars on a gym membership or gas money.

4. Library
For our book lovers out there, a library would be a perfect addition to any home. It could be used as an office, but could also just be your quiet space to curl up in the evenings and read. Bonus points if you’re able to get a fireplace in there.
5. Greenhouse
Plant lovers, unite! Whether it’s attached or a part of your outdoor space, a greenhouse is a great addition for those who have a green thumb. It could even be a money saver in the long run, as you could start to grow your own produce, herbs, or grains.
6. Solarium/Sunroom
While they differ slightly in build, the point is the same: a space where the sun will shine for most, if not all, of the day. This space can be a chill spot for you to hang out, and it can be decorated with only the nicest full-sun plants you can buy. Regardless, it would definitely become the prettiest room in the house.

7. Hobby Room
This is essentially a space that you could fill with whatever you like doing. Perhaps it becomes an art studio, or a red room for photography, or a space to do your crafts. Allow your creativity to flourish in your hobby room.
8. Sauna
What would be better than having a sauna on your property? You can relax those tense muscles after a hard day of work or activities, and find yourself rejuvenated from the inside out. It’s also a great space to spend some time during the colder months of the year.
9. Indoor Pool
Sure, not everyone wants an indoor pool, but wouldn’t it be cool to say you had one? It would require less cleaning than an outdoor pool, since you won’t be scraping up any leaves or grime coming from the outside, and you can get some exercise whenever you so choose.
10. Wine Cellar
The wine connoisseurs would absolutely adore this one. A temperature-controlled wine cellar would be the ultimate space for any classy adult and can be filled with your favorite bottles. One big purchase and you won’t have to spend money on wine for at least the next few years.
11. Walk-In Closet
A dedicated space for you to get ready is the dream of any fashion icon. You get to keep your nicest things hung up nicely, your jewelry on display, and your makeup at the ready. A walk-in closet is more than just storage for clothes—it’s a one-stop preparation station.
12. Home Office
Perhaps a little more mundane than other items on this list, but any work-from-home person would appreciate a dedicated work spot where distractions would be kept to a minimum. So many of us dream of having a Zoom background that doesn’t include our fridge.
13. Yoga/Meditation Space
This is separate from a home gym for a few reasons. For one, a yoga and meditation space would feel much more serene than the hardcore vibes a gym area puts out. Think incense, a water fountain, and some calming colors where you can detach and disconnect.
14. Panic Room
An odd room to think about, but an important one nonetheless. If we were to face a catastrophe on any level, you can feel secure knowing that you have a space that’s filled with provisions, where you’ll be protected from the outside world.
15. Butler’s Pantry
Traditionally, a butler’s pantry was a space situated between the kitchen and dining room that would hold fine china, silverware, and other serving necessities. Today, it would be an excellent multi-purpose space, acting as a hideaway for clutter and messy meal prep, but also as a base of organization within the home.

16. Screened-In Porch
Sometimes we want to be outside, but we don’t really want to be outside, right? A screened-in porch is the perfect mix of the two. Here, you can enjoy the fresh air with your morning cup of coffee, host friends, or even make a catio for your furry friends.
17. Spa Bathroom
Essentially, a spa bathroom is a regular bathroom with some extra amenities. Think towel warmer, rainfall shower, a bathtub with jets, and aromatherapy, all against a gorgeous cedar background. You’d never want to leave!
18. Bar
Any good host requires a dedicated area for cocktails, and a built-in bar would be just the thing. It also provides you with extra space for your favorite drinks, alcoholic or not, so your regular fridge doesn’t get cluttered with cans and bottles.
19. Recording Studio
If you’re a music lover or a podcast enthusiast, a recording studio would be just the right room for you. Allowing yourself a dedicated space with high-quality acoustics allows for quality jam sessions with your closest friends, but could also make for a top-tier listening space to pop on your favorite album.
20. Something Secretive
Maybe not a room, per se, but childlike whimsy is never too far from our hearts. If you had your way, why not create a home with secret passageways or rooms that only you know about? This allows you to truly have a space just for you to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
